Growing up here in Bradley County, I attended Hopewell Elementary followed by Bradley Jr. High School and on to Bradley Central High School

Experience

I've taught first grade since 2004 at Michigan Avenue School.  Before my teaching career began, I was able to work in classrooms ranging from Kindergarten through 12th grade.  I completed a full year of student teaching here in Bradley County as well.  One semester was served at Prospect Elementary in 2nd grade with Mrs. Jennie Davies and the next semester was at Cleveland Middle School in a 7th grade Special Education Inclusion classroom.

I have also served as a private tutor for 8 years in Bradley County for both Elementary and Middle School aged children.  In college, I served at an after school program at an elementary school in Cookeville, TN as well.

Bio

I was born and raised in Bradley County, attending Hopewell Elementary, Bradley Junior High School (now Ocoee Middle) and Bradley Central High School.  I continued my education earning a double major in Elementary Education and Special Education - Modified at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN.

My husband Brandon and I were married in October of 2009.  I have 2 growing and beautiful step-daughters, Katie & Candace. We have a loveable & mischevious chocolate lab named Canyon and a scaredy cat named Keen.  Some of my favorite things are cherry coke, SLEEPING, ice cream, traveling, being outside, candy cane chapstick, my family, my animals and my firsties. I became a teacher because I love being a part of a child's life while they are learning about their world and the opportunities that life will present them with to become whatever they can dream of becoming.
